in between my friends
you fit right in
as you always did
you glanced back at me, over your shoulder
in that same old way
and smiled at me
with heart breaking sweetness
and appreciation
god, it feels so real.
I saw you fade away
and the hole that was left between them
in the absence of your presence
is the deepest
and the blackest
